An Ounce of Curiosity

He was standing on the dock, watching the pilot load the plane. This village teen-aged boy had come down just to see the airplane and maybe see a white person.
As he was observing with curiosity, the pilot noticed him. The pilot looked at the boy's mangled arm and wondered what had recently happened to him. He asked and found out that this boy's arm had been broken in a motor-bike accident, but no one had cared to take him to a clinic or a hospital to have the broken bone cast.
Chris told the boy that on his next flight to the boy's village, he would pick him up and bring him to the hospital in the city. Two days later the boy waited on the dock and was flown to our city for an operation to re-brake the bone, put it in its rightful place and cast it. And a few days later the boy returned home.
It took just an ounce of curiosity and this boy's future was changed. He was going to be a cripple. Now, one day, he will be able to provide for his family.
