Lead On
Wake up at 5. Sweating by 6. Maybe a hot shower. Better wash those towels every day so they don't mold. Create something creative from scratch to fill the tums. Kiss before off to work.Sometimes I wonder what his day will hold. Will he get stuck in a village because of bad weather? Will he save a life? Will someone not make it ... waiting too long before calling the plane to pick up? There's been monkeys, eggs, pigs, noodles, coffee, full term babies, stroke victims, old ladies, business men ... all carried around by him ... to some of the remotest places on earth.I've waited at home for 13 hours at a time. Sweated and waited with 3 little ones circling around my feet wondering what next they can do. What do you do with 3 little ones in a place so limited, so far away from "normal"? Where do we get the next meal when there isn't anything convenient available? Who do we visit when there are no other children around? He has shown me. He has carried me through the valleys of shadows when my body and mind were weary. He has created places of refreshment when there were no pastures around. He has prepared feasts for us when our fridge was nearly empty. He has been the friend that sticks closer than a brother. My cup overflows. My mind is trekking these days ... a walk of remembering all that He has done ... a stroll through my days as I treasure the moments of my todays ... Remembering ... Treasuring ... Waiting on Him to continue to lead.My Gentle Shepherd, lead on.
