How then shall we live?
It has not so much been a question for this culture, but for me, for our family. We have been through an amazing journey in Indonesia -- a land in want for beauty and hope, but a place where I learned to appreciate the little joys of life and discovered the beauty of being in silence.
We have been guided back here -- a place that is full of beauty (so much so that it is easy to not even notice it!), and a country where busy-ness pushes away moments to think, to be.
Oh that God will grant me the grace to:
- notice the white butterflies that flutter by my kitchen window and be thankful ... for they are a reminders of New Life
- fold laundry & sweep floors ... remembering all that He has done & hope in all that He continues to do
- keep in mind the feasts that Ibu Yenni prepared with just a few kitchen utensils and in a kitchen that was falling off the end of the house
- continue being inspired by Mama Eki, a tiny woman with huge faith
- never forget the treasure I am to Christ ... the ways He proved this to me through whispering to my soul over and over and over again while in a thirsty land
