Santa Clause doesn't visit Borneo. And the Easter Bunny couldn't hop this far. The lack of commercialism sure helps us to focus on the real meanings of each holiday. The simplicity of the joy that comes when Sunday morning arrives and we remember that the tomb was empty ... the effort taken to put together Easter baskets that the children can search for ... the thawing of the frozen paska that Mom baked when she visited last month ... the hosting of others to help them enjoy the day when we all miss family dearly ... These are the little things that help us to remember, help us to continue giving, help us rejoice even when those around us don't. Happy Easter, family & friends ... what a blessed hope we have!
