Just days before we arrived, there was war in this town. One people group upset another people group and fighting broke out. The mall has bullet holes in it. This city became like a ghost town, all stores shut down. We were busy packing and leaving on a jet plane across the ocean, completely unaware of our future home. And when we arrived all was peaceful. An agreement had been made mid-week and all killing stopped. Yesterday I ran passed soldiers with machine guns. Today they were still there, guarding our street. I didn't see the guns ... but they yelled out, "Halo Mister!" What a life.
